Philosophical Gender Minoritized Students (GeMS) is a social club for philosophically minded undergraduates identifying as women, nonbinary, transgender, or other identities outside of the gender binary. We meet every other week to create a safe and welcoming community. Our community supports each other to propel gender minoritized students forward in their philosophical pursuits outside of the often uncomfortable traditionally cis-male oriented philosophy classroom. Together we have game nights, rant nights, potlucks, guest speakers, and many other fun activities to make new friends and explore philosophical issues pertaining to gender minoritized people. We hope you’ll join our community!
Contact the current faculty advisor, Dr. Elvira Basevich (ebasevich@ucdavis.edu), to be added to the GeMS mailing list and learn more about their upcoming events.
