Abstract:
Philosophers have recently explored how the social structure of science makes for better or worse inquiry. In this talk I draw on historical case studies from the medical sciences as well as a formal model to explore a topic that has been somewhat neglected by philosophers of science and social epistemologists: the effect industry funding has on science.
